Yes, you do need to be on social media.

Have you ever had to learn a foreign language and as soon as you get it down it changes AND a new language comes along you need to learn as well? That is social media. Social media marketing is an ever evolving beast with new versions launching all the time. Between Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok alone that is 3 very different types of audiences and content. And that is not even taking Twitter, LinkedIn, and Pinterest into consideration. So it can be an overwhelming part of marketing for any business.

Overwhelming but necessary. Did you know Gen Z uses Instagram and TikTok as a search engine more than Google? This is a massive shift in how information is consumed and to keep your business relevant you need to pivot right along with it. Google still is and will always be a tool we need in our business tool box but the way we think about social media and its value likely needs a reset. We also need to factor social media into our business costs. Are the platforms free? Sure. But your time isn't. So taking a realistic approach to the investment you can make in social media is essential.

If you are looking for a place to start we recommend an hour a day per platform at the very very minimum. You can batch out content one day and use the rest of the week to edit, write copy, post, and engage. If you have a business that is constantly evolving you can post live in the moment and use that time to do all the steps. We're going to be honest, that will not be enough time but it gives you a place to start and then you can gauge your needs from there.

Social media is also something that can be fairly seamlessly passed off. That is one of the reasons we exist.
